The challenge board is made from a 4x4 ft white tile board. (Refer to How to build the board.) The course diagram will be printed and distributed prior to the challenge as was done last year. The two circles are 4 inches and 6 inches in diameter. The two aluminum soda cans (one empty and one full) are centered in the circles (an empty can on top of a full can). The black line starts 3 inches from the center of circle, curves out from the center of a straight line and then curves back to the home area.
The object is a sponge which sits inside a lego housing. (Refer to the How to Build Object for a more detailed description.)
The balloon gizmo will be placed anywhere along the right side of the field but not within either of the home bases. It will be placed randomly along the right wall at the beginning of each competition round and will be the same distance from the home base for either team in each round. (Refer to How to build the balloon gizmo for a more detailed description.)
